from 18 reviewsIf G-d Had A Job is a compelling book, as it demonstrates how the Rebbe’s Torah teachings enables one to gain practical insights towards leading a more meaningful and impactful worklife as well as a guide to becoming better people.

More and more, people have come to understand that achieving a satisfactory work-life balance enhances both the “work life” and the personal life, but it’s not just a question of allocating the “right” number of hours to each. It’s also crucial to imbue both with the proper moral outlook and practice, and If God Had a Job is an excellent “how to manual” for working toward that goal. Combining examples from the weekly Torah portion and the insights of the late Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the book provides a step-by-step program for infusing the ideals of honesty, integrity, self-awareness, and continuous self-improvement into one’s dealings with work colleagues and business associates, and not incidentally, into one’s personal and family life as well.

I’ve read dozens of career books, but none have resonated with me like this one. It’s practical, spiritual, and completely transformative. The workbook format makes it easy to take action, and the Rebbe’s insights give it a depth that other books lack. Five stars isn’t enough!
